Biography
Franco Cardini was born in Florence on August 5, 1940.
1966 – Graduated with honors at the University of Florence with a thesis on Medieval History with Professor Ernesto Sestan. It carries out the military service as a second lieutenant in the Air Force complement.
1967 – Appointed assistant to the volunteer chair of Medieval History of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Florence.
1968 – Winner of open competition as a professor in the High Schools; he graduated in Paleography and Archives at the specialized school Archives of Florence State.
1969 – Fellow at the Department of Medieval and Modern History of the teaching faculty of the University of Florence. She participates as a fellow at the Postgraduate Course of the “Center d’Etudes supérieures de Civilization Médiévale” of Poitiers.
1970 – Participates as a fellow to the culture courses at the University of Moscow.
1971 – Assistant Professor as a result of a public competition to win the chair of Medieval and Modern History of the Faculty of Education at the University of Florence (held by Professor Giorgio Spini); He appointed a Professor of Medieval History at the same University, a position he held until moving to Associate Professor and then Professor.
